***Update***
SPIFR Flight Training is no longer
providing flight training.
Andrew Ike, founder and primary CFI
is now teaching the Hawker 400XP in the corporate world. Thank
you for all the wonderful customers who trained with us over the
past 7 years. Past customers can still call or email
Andrew directly (419 283 1552). Limited
refreshers may be available for graduates of SPIFR.
For IFR training, we recommend GATTS
in Manhattan, KS. Andrew worked with GATTS during
1999-2000. Call Jason or Dale Wolcott for more information

Training Concept
Problem:
|
? |
Did you know that flight
schools across the United States do not adequately prepare pilots to
manage an IFR flight by themselves in a single pilot operation? |
And yet the majority of
General Aviation IFR flights have only one instrument rated pilot on
board. During a routine IFR flight the pilot must
handle the flying, radios, navigation, systems, emergencies, and
even the needs of passengers.
We believe that pilots must be trained to handle the workload of a
demanding IFR flight by themselves.
Solution:
Our instrument courses provide general aviation
pilots with a unique system of Single Pilot IFR flying.
This
system is designed to minimize the workload on an IFR pilot by using
powerful single-pilot flight and planning techniques. Even complex IFR procedures are broken
down into simple, effective steps that an average pilot can master.
Single Pilot IFR training will eventually
become the standard for IFR training among general aviation
pilots.
During your instrument training, we
will emphasize knowledge and skills that will help you survive in
the real world. We teach beyond the text books and provide you
with a common-sense approach to instrument flying.
You will learn to:
- Handle partial-panel flying with
confidence.
- Manage Air Traffic Controllers
like a pro.
- Plan your fuel for the real world,
not just the FAA.
- File flight plans that make your
life easier.
- Avoid weather traps most pilots
miss.
- Anticipate every event during a
routine flight.
- Understand the big picture for
each phase of an IFR flight.
- ....and so much more!
We think you will find our approach to flight
training unique and even refreshing. We believe training
should be challenging and enjoyable. You will be treated with
complete respect as we work hard to meet your training needs.
Our instructors will focus on your strengths and correct your
weaknesses to bring out the best of your flying abilities.
We
will never put you down, yell at you, or make you fail to prove a
point. We believe in setting you up for success while allowing
you enough room to make some real world mistakes and correct
them.
Give us a call
today to speak with a flight instructor. We will
answer any questions you have regarding instrument training or
scheduling. Remember that once you have your training dates
picked out, we'll take care of the rest! Call us at 866

We look forward to working with you!
