IFR Refresher
Course (1-3 Days)
You may be instrument rated but how is your
instrument confidence doing? A rating without the confidence to use it
can become just a waste of FAA ink on a pilot certificate.
Two things generally keep IFR pilots from
using their rating:
- Lack of quality instruction during original
training
- Lack of recent use of IFR skills
Pilots who
were not originally trained for Single Pilot operations often find IFR flying
overwhelming at best. Traditional training does not adequately prepare pilots
for the demands of Single Pilot IFR. Secondly, pilots who simply do not use
their rating will find themselves lacking the confidence to even file an IFR
flight plan. IFR skills must be practiced to maintain proficiency
and confidence.
We can help!
SPIFR Flight Training offers some of the most
advanced and complete refresher training in the country.
If you are mostly
proficient and just need a couple practice ILS approaches and the autograph of
a CFII, then this course is probably not for you.
Our refreshers treat the world of IFR flying
with the respect it deserves. A pilot who has not flown IFR for a year or more
needs at least two or three complete days of refresher training. We don't stop there.
Instead of simply refreshing your original training, we actually provide you
with system approach to IFR flying that will
simplify your life in the clouds. We expect pilots to use their rating
upon completion of training. We don't offer rubber stamps so that
you are simply "legal."
The course can last as long or as short as you
like. By talking with you about your recent experience we can recommend a
length of training appropriate for you. Many pilots find three or four days provide
adequate time to learn most of our advanced Single Pilot techniques. If you
feel very rusty about your skills and knowledge you may need five or more days to bring your skills up to speed.
The success
of our instrument refresher course is founded on the quality of our flight
instructors. You
will spend the entire 1-5 days with the same instructor who is
exclusively assigned to you for your training. Each instructor has
only one client at a time and does not have any outside flying commitments.
You will quickly feel at ease with our friendly and professional atmosphere
that allows you to learn at your own pace.
Each day consists of about 8 to 10 hours of moderate level training. The day is divided into classroom, simulator and airplane time in an organized
fashion. Every lesson will be thoroughly explained and learned on the simulator
before reinforcing the lesson in the airplane.
Instrument flying is our passion
and that passion will help guide and motivate you through an enjoyable and
challenging session of training.
